Garud Earns DoW’s CMMC Level 2 Certification, Demonstrating Advanced Cybersecurity Capabilities

Columbia, MD – Garud Technology Services, Inc. has earned the Department of War’s Level 2 Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), demonstrating its ability to establish and maintain rigorous cybersecurity standards for its federal partners.
Level 2 certification requires contractors that handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) to implement 110 security controls outlined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in its Special Publication 800-171. Garud obtained a perfect score, meeting all 110 benchmarks.
CMMC Level 2 provides DoW and other federal agencies with assurances that they’re working with contractors who can protect CUI at a level that’s on par with evolving adversarial threats, including protecting information flow in a multi-tier supply chain.
Industry reports estimate that more than 80,000 companies will be required to obtain CMMC Level 2 certification before the end of the year. Garud is among the first 1,000 to have achieved this milestone to date.
In preparation for the advanced certification, Garud worked with Frisco IT Services to evaluate and strengthen its CUI posture. Frisco specializes in supporting small and medium-sized businesses with CMMC compliance and helps guide them through the certification process.
StrategicIT Solutions, an authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO), conducted the independent audit, bringing a team of certified experts with hands-on knowledge in compliance, cybersecurity, and DoW requirements to execute a comprehensive yet efficient review.
